Fuck fast-fashion

Every industry will always have its flaws, but the shadowy side of the fashion industry take the cake. Textile-producing countries are completely overwhelmed. Mass production and the ‘race to the bottom’ creates environmental damage, (semi)child labour and literal mountains of thrash. Rising popularity of fast-fashion and greenwashing enhance this effect even more.

It is evident that change is needed, Schrav will show you that change is possible.

origin

My background in the sneaker-scene, passion for sustainability and increasing disapprove of the clothing industry resulted in founding the brand Schrav in 2017.

Schrav represents a combination of the things I value: streetwear, textile and sustainability. The creation of collections and items is a means to an extremely important end: showing what the world could alternatively look like.

By only using leftover fabrics we show that current valuations are a tool of the past. Do you want to buy something? No problem. You want to buy something and immediately discard it because of crappy quality? That, actually, is a problem.

Buy less, buy better and save the planet, without being a hippy.

Leftovers

In the production of Schrav-products, only leftovers are used. These leftover are fabrics that producers don’t want to use anymore, or fabrics that remain after a factorial production system. In the best case scenario, these fabrics and up as thrash. Worst case scenario, they are burned. These leftovers can be entire rolls of cloth or batches of coats. This fully depends on what we bump into.

Consequently, the stock of each and every collection is limited. How limited exactly is fully dependent on availability of certain types of fabric.

Elke collectie komt in gelimiteerde oplages.

production

All Schrav-products are produced by Studio Ryn ,a modern workshop in Arnhem. Studio Ryn aims to bring the manufacturing industry back to The Netherlands. They do this by creating high quality collections for a variety of designers and brands.

Due to our small-scale approach and our close cooperation with Studio Ryn, we have the luxury of constantly being able to improve. We are therefore not bound to static collections or standard models.
